General Purpose

Perform maintenance scheduling for major operational function, e.g., surface mine s field/electrical and shop maintenance as directed by senior maintenance planner.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance scheduling functions for field/electrical maintenance and shop maintenance.
  • Perform maintenance planning for work typically requiring four hours or less to complete.
  • Efficiently schedule maintenance activities, working with operations personnel.
  • Generate schedules and work orders for work activities.
  • Monitor work order status on a daily basis.
  • Analyze and monitor preventative maintenance (PM) and lubrication service compliance.
  • Maintain maintenance information system equipment files.
  • Monitor completed work schedules. Reschedule necessary maintenance work, and update maintenance information system as required.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance priorities with general maintenance supervisors and maintenance supervisors.
  • Assist in materials procurement and establishment, and coordinates deletion of necessary warehouse stock items with mine materials analyst.
  • Assist senior maintenance planner as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in maintenance and/or maintenance planning, or the equivalent of education and experience.
  • Strong technical and working knowledge of maintenance principles in areas of field/electrical and shop maintenance.
  • Understanding of procurement and warehouse processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills involving the ability to work cross-functionally to understand requirements, present alternatives, and recommendations.
  • Understanding of company s business, relevant policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, local laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with the use of personal computers and automated tools, including spreadsheets, word processing, and presentation applications.

Preferences

  • Working knowledge of surface mining maintenance methods, operations and procedures
  • Mine foreman certification
  • MSHA electrical certification.
